Raphaella Tran, O.D., M.S. is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She earned both her Doctor of Optometry degree and Masters of Vision Science degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She did extensive research on myopia control which she presented her work at the Academy of American Optometry conference where she was awarded the Brett Bence Clinical Student Fellowship and the Association for Research in Ophthalmology where she was awarded the Cullen Fellowship Travel Grant. She was awarded clinical excellence honors, and the sole recipient of the Ocular Instrument Award for Excellence in her clinical experience at the university, and received multiple cornea and contact lens awards from her time at her optometric rotations.
She practices full scope of optometry to provide treatment and management of ocular diseases, corneal refractive therapy, and fits specialty contact lenses such as scleral lenses and gas permeable lenses. She specializes in myopia control through atropine, soft multifocal contacts and ortho-keratology. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new food experiences.
